The War on Drugs?.....I'm Confused

A friend of mine was recently on a trip to the US where he fell and sprained his wrist. OUCH! So naturally he went to the local hospital to get it looked at, bandaged up and where they gave him a prescription for OxyContin. OxyContin really? for a sprain. For those of you who don't know its a drug derived from Opium and will give you a damn good high. Which got me thinking the States has a high percentage of people hooked on prescrition drugs and with all the Vicodin, Percocet and Oxy prescriptions being handed out for somethng as minor as a sprang its no wonder so many people are hooked on this stuff. In Canada if that happens to you your given A T3, as in one T3 maybe you'll get 2, and sent on your way. I had surgery for fucks sake and all I got was a prescrition for T3's and when i asked for something stronger they said NO... you'll be fine with these.

So why doesn't Canada hand out the good stuff like the States? Oh ya, we don't have drug companies that make money off of us getting high and hooked on OxyContin , Vicodin and whatever else they can hand out. So why in the fuck is there a war on drugs in the US when there ok with getting their own citizens hooked on prescritption drugs, a drug IS a drug. They certainly don't need to be giving OxyContin out for a bloody spranged wrist when a T3 will do the job.

I'm confused.

New Rules

Someone had to say it... all of it.

Watch New Rules - 8/28/09 in Entertainment | View More Free Videos Online at Veoh.com
From "Real Time with Bill Maher".

I have an enormous heart on for this man and you will too - eventually. He will break you.

Either that or he will make you want to join the other 23% that want to live on the moon.

I don't even know if you could escape his charms there.

I'll tell you where you can shove your pole vault....

Are the 2010 Vancouver Olympics still happening? Are you kidding me?!?! WHY? What the Laura Secord is going on here?!?!!?
In a time of economic downturn, when bankruptcy and job loss are rampant isn't it shocking that we are still going ahead with the Olympics?
Typically they cost millions of dollars and the hosting city ends up paying the price for years to come.
There are few exceptions and despite claims from certain cities some experts say that NO Olympic Games have made a profit in modern times.

MONTREAL, 1976: Debt:>1 billion (globe and mail; abcnews.com)
LAKE PLACID, 1980: Debt: $11 million
CALGARY, 1988: Debt: $910 million (they claim a profit)
BARCELONA, 1992: Debt: US$1.4 billion
SYDNEY, 2000: Games billed as self-financing by politicians were a $2.3-billion loss (Auditor General New South Wales Report on Sydney (2000) Olympics)

The Beijing Olympics were the most expensive ever costing around $43 billion.
This is absolute insanity! We all know that money spent on ANY Olympics would be better spent in about a million different ways.

If it's really that important for amateur athletes to win medals they can come do hurdles over crack pipes and heroin needles in my back alley. Whoever doesn't land on drug paraphernalia gets a chocolate coin wrapped in gold tin foil.

If you want to know who has the right idea about the Olympics check with Prague. They're pulling out of the bid for the 2020 games because they know it would cost too much money! Money that no one has right now. Money that should go to making sure we have a social and economic future, not building an Olympic Center so your sister can become an expert on the uneven bars!

Prague are realists.

AFI- Crash Love

So if you're a fan of AFI you probably know they have a new album coming out in late September called Crash Love. It's been three years since their emo-has-sex-with-goth mega hit album Decemberunderground was released ( what's the difference between emo and goth anyway?!?!?) so I'll bet you're so happy to have new music from them that your mascara is running.
Here's an interview I did with them soon after their last album came out...

Juliette Lewis, Cat Power, and The Pretenders

Last night Juliette Lewis, Cat Power, and The Pretenders were at the Malkin Bowl for one of the final stops on their summer tour.

I heart this venue. I love this venue so much that I might learn the names of the Jonas Brothers if it means a few more nights of music there this summer.

Juliette started the night full of energy and taunts of the crowd " to get of your blankets and stand up... you aren't watching TV".

Anyone who wears knee pads, a feather cape, and white gloves on stage has my vote for president...of something.

Cat Power followed with her usual "play me while you are making nice" breathy voice but lacked the stage presence of Juliette. She sounds incredible but still struggles to involve the crowd in the same way.

Then Chrissy Hynde emerged. It was kind of like if you were to bump into Mathew McConaughey running with his t-shirt on for once...you're not quite sure what to expect...but she proved she is no Pretender when it comes to being captivating.

Known just as well for her activism as her rock antics, Hynde left the crowd buzzing and me unable to figure out their best song today.

HIGHdeas

You know how you you once figured out how to end world hunger when you were baked at that house party that one time and you were totally going to write a letter to congress the next day, but then the next day comes and the idea's totally evaporated from your memory? Well some genius created www.highdeas.com so that your stoner brilliance won't be forgotten. Ideas include a 4:20 iPhone app that will let you know when and where it's time to get high anywhere in the world or how about a band called Fine Young Cannabis who cover Sweet Leaf and other choice weed tracks.

This could be the greatest stoner revelation ever made. Jay

Bedouin Soundclash interview

We called each other before the interview to make sure that we dressed alike...you know.... like teenage girls do.

Bat for Lashes serenaded Venue on Granville last night. What can I say except that she is a true musician with a splendiferous voice. Plus she has a song about the Karate Kid, which is alright with me!

Ohhhhhh 80's Jazzercise. Does Your Greatness Ever End?

Just when I think I have seen every Jazzercise video, one more is waiting in the wings to bring me joy.

Behold Judi Sheppard Misset & friends working out to "Move your Boogie Body" by the Bar-Kays.

I can’t decide if her Mexican war cry in the middle or the triumphant “Hot Dog” is the climax of this soon to be sensation.

I am pretty sure this is where Kristen Wiig from Saturday Night Live got her inspiration for all of her characters.

Why do I have a feeling Blondtron’s mom played this for her every morning while she grew up?

The caption for the posting of this video is “This is what happens when you snort coke and make a video”. blah blah blah... drugs are bad.

But this is amazing...so thank you drugs?

You Say Party! We Say Die!

So YSP! WSD! is pretty frickin cool. They are from here in British Columbia and people all over the world love their shit. Apparently they have a new album in the works and I think it's called XXXX. Wow. Quadruple X. That's like the hardest core porn in the world! It's way harder core than two girls one cup, that's for sure. Here's an old interview I did with YSP! WSD! when they were slightly less pornographic. JAY

The Dead Weather

Jack White has another band?

Well, apparently so, and it played the Commodore tonight. I went to check them out and holy shit, I have not felt less cool since high school. Mr. White, Alison Mosshart (of the Kills), and two other guys put on a grungy, bluesy, slightly gothy, and altogether sexy explosion of a show, and now I have even more catching up to do with the music kids are into these days.

Silversun Pickups

Silversun Pickups played the Commodore last night. They get compared to Smashing Pumpkins but I say "What's wrong with that?" That era was awesome and it's about time someone revived the sound of the 90s. How long is this 80s fascination going to go on for, anyway?

Their opening bands were Cage the Elephant and Manchester Orchestra. The former had a little blonde dude singing and bouncing around the stage, going into (and onto!) the crowd. It was the kind of enthusiasm I approve of, although he almost took out one of my fellow photographers. Manchester Orchestra is a heavy rock sort of act fronted by a lumberjack and featuring a fellow on drums/tambourine/keyboard/Macbook. And he's just the backup drummer to the main drummer! And there's two other guys on guitar too! And they're not even from Manchester, they're from Atlanta. A confusing night at the Commodore once again.

The US Healthcare Fiasco, Debacle, Clusterfuck, Whatever you want to call it.

So the US of A is the only major first world country that does not provide regular healthcare to it's people, the people are required to provide it for themselves. If you've seen the movie Sicko then you know how well that's working out. 50 Million peeps can't afford to provide BASIC healthcare for themselves, that's alot of peeps, becasue of that, 18,000 US peeps die a year needlessly. This is a fact! I'm not pulling this number out of my ass. In case your wondering that's equal to six 9/11's every year, you remeber how we made a huge deal about that right?

So the Democrats led by Obama want to change that system to give every American healthcare, but the Republicans have accused the Democrats who are trying to put an end to all this needless death of being "killers"?!?!?! Say what!

Well, the Republicans need to defend the current system becaue if they don't they will loose the MASSIVE amounts of MONEY they get from private medical firms who benefit from the current system and by benefit I mean make a tonne of money. So the Republicans do what they do best; invent lies, misinform and use scare tactics. We've seen it before, its getting old actually they use the same formula over and over again I'm surprised that alot of American's still fall for it. So this time they came up with DEATHPANELS....... Obama wants to set up deathpanels to euthanize the old and disabled and yes Sarah Palin did really claim that Barak Obama wants to kill her disabled baby, on facebook I believe because that's where you would make such a claim. She is a fucking idiot seriously!!!!

How did they come up with deathpanels? I'll tell you...... So a board member for several PRIVATE HEALTH CORPORATIONS (meaning their only goal is to make $$$), Betsy McCaughey, noticed a clause in the healthcare legislation that would pay for old people to see a Doctor and write a living will where they could stipulate when, if at all, they could go in peace so to speak. Completely voluntary, alot of people want it, I know my own mother wants it. Think about it would you want to be kept alive for a few extra months if you were in agony and couldn't even speak? So good ole Betsy decided to start the rumor that this was a form of euthanasia where old people would be forced to agree to death, thanks for that Betsy. This is of course NOT TRUE and spun into including the disabled which prompted Palin to declare the system "downright evil" again on facebook I believe, seems to be her favored podium. So the Republicans once again were off on a scare tactic mission.

So just to be clear the Republicans get away with defending the system that pays them money and kills 18,000 American's a year and the Democrats are evil. This craziness doesn't stop there.

Right-wing magazine US Investors' Daily claimed that if Steven Hawking had been British, he would of been allowed to die at birth by its "socialist" healthcare system. Ummm Hawking is British and has said through his little computer voice thing, " I wouldn't be here without the NHS"(national healthcare system)..... All you have to do is wiki him to know he's a fucking Brit, I really think Repulicans count on Americans being stupid. Your not stupid inform yourselves.

Also Frank Laffer a right-wing economist claimed on CNN that it would be a disaster if the government got its hands on Medicare, the program that provides heathcare for the elderly paid for by the government......WTF that comment is ridiculous.

The lie is working unfortunately support for the plan that would save lives is falling away. Doesn't everyone deserve healthcare, I live in a country where healthcare is free and its a great system and we don't wait for 18 hours in an emergency room to be helped maybe 1 hour. It seems very plainly to me the only thing that the Republican's don't want to loose is the money they get from medical firms, insurance companies and drug companies.

Its ludacris to claim that Barak Obama is plotting to build death panels to kill your grand parents. Just like Fox news says Egypt is in the middle east, Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, global warming is the greatest hoax in human history, gay marriage will destroy the family unit and my personal favorite Osama Bin Ladden is sitting in a cave somewhere making audiotapes. The Republican party is a bunch of wing-nuts! That tells lies plain and simple.

Do yourself a favor make informed decsions on what's going on in your world and by that I mean, read the facts and the truths, think for yourself(very important step) draw your own conclusion. Also if Sarah Palin is your friend on facebook delete her ass, she's bat shit crazy!

I know its long but its important.

Here is my apology gift world

So I haven't written for a while, and that's mostly because I've been in a creative stink so to make up for it I will stand outside of your window with my boom box. I won't play 'In Your Eyes' and I'm not as cool as John Cusack because I'm actually just posting a link to a zipped up little folder of cool jams.

But I hope you'll forgive me as you dance and maybe I'll hold a tiny place on the dance floor in the cockles of your heart.

Fact- Kings of Leon are Chick Magnets

How is it Tuesday and no one has written about the double Kings of Leon concert last weekend? I was politely waiting... no more.

To be honest I think under estimated these guys. I don't often pop my head up into the mainstream but they have arrived in a big selling out arena way.

I can’t speak for Saturday but Sunday there was no lack of "Sex on Fire” in GM place.

Women love these guys. Their pheromones could be felt for miles around. It was honestly a good night to be walking around downtown fellas...

From my angle people mostly had a good two step on until the few songs that have hit the mainstream and then people lost their shit in a big way.

If these guys don’t stick around Caleb Followill would have an amazing career in voice over work… move over Morgan Freeman (doesn’t it seem like he does all voice overs now…even car commercials… seriously). He was strong from start to finish.

Currently Kings of Leon are working on their fifth album which is expected to be released in 2010.

Canada Dances with ME !!!

So I had the chance to kick with some of the Vancouver audition hopefulls for So You Think You Can Dance Canada, check it out below..

I DO heart NYC ... I bet you do too!

I'm Back!

My trip to the East Coast included an epic amount of walking, eating, and adventuring.

Everything from watching a taping of the Jimmy Fallon Show to staying in a DUMBO studio where a transexual mocumentary and photo shoots on each corner of the street were occurring. That could possibly be the strangest sentence I have ever written.

I am surprised I got on the plane back. It was a hard choice. I think the humidity made the choice for me.

A few tips I picked up for even the veteran NYC travelers:

*Liquiteria in Mid Manhattan.m It will save your life after 2 days with no sleep.

*Forget the museums – go to Williamsburg to see the History of the Hipster Exhibit... then stroll to Green Point to see the Future of the Hipster display.

* Spend a Saturday night at Union Pool and question why Vancouver doesn’t have a backyard lounge like that.

*Listen to Handsome Anderson and DO NOT bum rush celebrities. I saw Natalie Portman and clung to the moral of his story with every fiber of my being.

She probably would've had her dog do that to me!

*Mad Decent and Diplo were everywhere. They even have an IPhone App that I think I heard more times than the sound of taxi horns honking.

I missed them but keep an eye out for when they come to town- I heard their night really was “cooler than the other side of your pillow”.

*Bask in the fact that any given night an amazing band will be playing somewhere in your vicinity!

Calgary Virgin Music Festival

Last weekend (August 8th and 9th) was the Calgary "Virgin Music Festival," which was held at Canada Olympic Park and featured awesome artists such as: K-OS, Winter Sleep, Metric, Billy Talent, and of course Pearl Jam! I had the priviledge of attending and here are some of the pictures I took...

And... Here's Jason Awesome backstage while K-OS performed looking pretty damn TALL!

Fox news you dumb shits!!

Seriously!?!? not that you need another reason to NOT watch Fox news but WTF! Are you telling me the graphics department at the news station is so fucking dumb they actually think that's were Egypt is?? Not to mention that the editing department is just as dumb becasue they let this graphic go on air. HOT TIP: Egypt is located on the continent of Africa not the middle east.

Fox followed this peice of news up with a Paddington Bear scandal, appareantly the loveable bear was drunk at yet another children's party this past weekend..... Bloody hell, give a bear a break I'd be drunk to if i was doing nothing but entertaining children since 1958.

I'm thinking scotch drinker.

PEARL JAM IN CALGARY 2009...

I was a grunge kid. In the early 90's I was a skinny teen with long hair, steel toe Doc Martens, flannel for miles and a boner for grunge music. I loved Pearl Jam then and I love them now.
I realise that many of their detractors seem to blame the band for Nickelback and Creed but I'm pretty sure if Eddie Vedder ever met Chad Kroeger or Scott Stapp he'd knock them both the fuck out. Well young Eddie would, old Eddie would probably impart some Buddhist wisdom and THEN knock them the fuck out. I digress.
Bottom line is Pearl Jam in 2009 have more in common with clasic rock bands from the 60's and 70's, like their heros The Who, then any Grunge copycats who made a name in the wake of their debut album TEN.
Itt's apparent when you see them live, as I just did in Calgary, Alberta this past weekend, that they are above and beyond most rock acts today in terms of skill, quality of songs and sheer entertainment.

Here's the first single " The Fixer" from Pear Jam's up coming new album, Backspacer.
They played it in Calgary. It rocks. Check below for the rest of the set list.

Tiger Woods gives you wood...

Recently Tiger Woods farted in front of the nation. Live on camera. For all the world to see. It was during a golf tournament. Now golf will never be the same. But fuck it, is that really going to change how we feel about Tiger Woods? No. It is not. Tiger Woods is the essence of greatness. I love him and so do you and so does musician Dan Bern, just listen...

How to Rave a Life

I'm at the Fray concert right now. The music is just as depressing as I thought it might be. The singer is crying, the guys are silent, and the girls are touching themselves under their volleyball shorts. The only thing that is keeping me from cutting myself is the 5 Candy Ravers in bare feet and cowboy hats dancing with their glow sticks.

Did I miss the memo? Is E-tard the new E-mo?

Whatever it is, I like it. The chubby one even has a Rainbow Light Saber!

The gist of my story is: if your Daddy didn't love you enough, you were at the Fray show and you loved it. Apparently, my Daddy loved me just enough.

Mother Mother, Sam Roberts Band

Vintage is the man with the hook up. While he was back at the ranch taking care of business, the man hooked up some random tickets. Mother Mother and Sam roberts at Deer lake Park.

Mother Mother has their shit figured out. All their songs are catchy and modern. The music is new and fresh. I'm predicting that this time next year some "hip hop" producer will be sampling their music for a new Hillary Duff album. This will also be the day I clean my ears with a knitting needle.

There's a reason The Sam Roberts Band is named after Sam Roberts. The guy is a musical midget genius. I've seen the band perform about five times and its always the same; 6ft of stage presence stuffed into 5ft of performer.

Rock the Bells

Hotmess hit up Rock the Bells on a sweltering Saturday at Deer Lake Park. The day was all about reverence for hip-hop, and a certain funny smell in the air. The lineup included legends like RZA and Nas, and had surprise appearances by the likes of B-Real from Cypress Hill. Throughout the day, artists would do classic verses of other rappers, like when Common dropped some Pharcyde and Snoop lyrics, to the delight of the crowd (oh yeah, he did "Rapper's Delight" too). The whole thing felt like a shrine to a genre that seems to be a bit maligned of late, and it was refreshing.

LA Roux tonight on Hotmess!

So are all probably aware that we are big fans of La Roux on Hotmess. Tonight the greatness collides! Vintage will be catching up with our beloved former 'Ginger of the Week' who I was lucky enough to catch in concert a few nights ago.

They did not dissapoint, in fact I think they were one of those bands better live! Her voice is incredibly powerful which is good, because there were a lot of hipster lesbians with their coif in her signature massive side bang singing along at the top of their lungs.

Check out their touring schedule here and make sure you don't miss the ginger greatness if they're playing near you!

LMFAO at Gossip

The crowd was unruly, the band was an hour late, but once they were up there they got shit going. They gave a lot of love to Vancity, substituting the nickname/credit union into their song "I'm in Miami Bitch", to much applause from their Gossiping minions.

Hotmess landed an interview with Sky Blu! You have to listen! Party execution 101 with hotmess and Sky Blu !

Blink 182

Vintage sent The Bruce and I to review the blink 182 show.

On the way over we met some girls in the park and they gave us some of their peach cider. After a couple pulls from the 2 litre, The Bruce casually mentions he hasn't seen blink 182 since thier first Warped tour.

Girl 1: "Oh my god! You guys are seniors!"
The Bruce: "It was only 1999"
Girl 2: "I was 8"
The Bruce: "Bye ladies. Your braces are sexy, but even I have limits"

About 10 steps into GM Place we met a girl standing by herself. She was waiting for her date to come out of the restroom. After some brief negotiating, I proceeded to lick both her legs from ankle to thigh. She was tight, tanned, and salty. This cost me $2.

Guys, don't leave your sluts unattended.

We walked into the show and found some seats; not our seats, but some seats. It was there that we met two fine ladies from the Black Orchid Agency (aka Hookers). I don't really remember what I said to them, but I got pushed down the stairs and rolled into a group of girls from somewhere in the Valley. After some quick introductions the girls told me I was pretty even though I was old, and began to take pictures of me. A lot of pictures.

It aint easy being tall, good-looking, and white.

That's when I figured it out. Everyone at this show was ugly. Beautiful People are the new visible minority. Our numbers are dwindling. Stick with me Hot Messy ones, there is strength in numbers.

Oh, also, Blink 182 put on an amazing show for the kiddies with the best stage setup I have ever seen. They played all the hits for all the white kids passively swaying back and forth in the "mosh pit".

It was a good time had by all. I'm pretty banged up from my trip down the stairs though. I'm walking with a limp like an old school pimp or real OG.

Why our site looks like a piece of shit right now...

Dear Sir or Madame,

You are likely visiting this site because you are one of the GAGILLION Hotmess fans worldwide who have had multiple eargasms while listening to our podcast/ radio show. You probably also love to fuck around at work or school and read our blog. This is great for us and we thank you. If your boss or teacher gives you shit, grab that stapler on your desk and hit them in the knee cap. When they buckle, tear off the arm of your chair and give them a HELLO upper-cut. Finish off with a flurry to the solar plexus. They'll get the message.

You COULD be visiting this site by accident because you thought this was a Sam Sparrow fan page, a Cobra Starship fan page or even a porn site ( if you thought it was porn I'll apologize right now for letting you down), but this is less likely.

Regardless, you're here and are probably asking yourself, "What the shit-fuck is this bullshit? This page looks more lame than my leper horse with a broken leg."

First of all, put that horse out of it's misery and secondly the reason this page looks this way right now is because we needed to do some tests while we build our NEW IMPROVED WEBSITE.

It's going to be SICK so please have patience.  We're going to have merchandise and contest sections and a whole whack load of new cool features to help make this a more interactive experience for all!

YOU my friend are a part of an organization of hot messy people. YOU ARE ALL MEMBERS OF WWW.HOTMESS.ORG

Cordially yours,
Jay

Ever watch Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations? No? Well you should!!

It's a travel & food show on the Travel Channel where "Tony" vists places all over the world to try their local cuisine and culture BUT it's so much more then that! In the one hour show he manages to cram anything and everything on whatever city he is in that is food, culture and oh yes cocktails, there is definetly no lack of drinking on this show on Tony's part.

He also has a fondness for street meat and showcases at least once in every city where you can get a high quality, delicious and most importantly freshly prepared quick street food.

Egyptian Breakfast:

His emmy award winning show has been running for a few season now but you can definitely catch reruns on the travel channel. He is an extremely charismatic and colorful man who has that NY attitude of telling it like it is and no holds bar, his description of San Paolo: it's like L.A. threw up on NY!

By far his best episode was in Beirut when the Israel-Lebanon conflict broke out. Despite having filmed only one restaurant before fighting began, Bourdain's producers compiled the Beirut footage into a episode. Uncharacteristically, the episode included footage of both Bourdain and his production staff, and included not only their initial attempts to film the episode, but also their firsthand encounters with Hezbollah supporters, their days of waiting for news with other expatriates in a Beirut hotel, and their eventual escape aided by a "cleaner" (unseen in the footage) whom Bourdain dubbed "Mr. Wolfe." The episode was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2007

I highly recommend this show it's a welcoming break from all the other crap on TV, not to mention you get great tips if you should ever feel inclined to visit any one of the cities profiled.

Fifty Dead Men Walking

At first “Fifty Dead Men Walking” seems similar to a lot of movies you’ve already seen but then it Karate chops you with an Irish genuineness you weren’t expecting.

Martin McGartland's 1997 autobiography of the same name, the story follows a street hustler from Ireland caught between the IRA and the British agendas in the late 80’s.

But don’t expect all the lame Hollywood flare- it’s gritty, tough, and makes an effort to accurately portray Northern Ireland at the time- thick Irish accents included.

It doesn’t pick a side but instead focuses on the desperation of the people stuck in an unwinnable situation.

Jim Sturgess is so good in this movie I almost forgot that Ben Kingsley is the other leading man.

I heart all things true story and documentary like so if that isn’t your thing then it probably won’t appeal to you in the same way.

But if you are check out da wiki. It goes into further detail on the story but also the events that happened after the film.

"Fifty Dead Men Walking" opens July 31. Go see it!

I would go again but only if the guy who sat behind me and stunk like pickles isn't invited.

Snoop Dogg & Friends

Average age of Snoop Dogg Fan: 15
Average age of Snoop Dogg Song: 15

Seems like a good fit to me. That is until he goes into Aint No fun and half of the kids had no idea what was going on. Confusion compounded when Snoop was joined by the Lady of Rage for a throwback of the track Afro Puffs, made famous by the Above the Rim Soundtrack.

Later Snoop asked everyone to put their twos up (two fingers for Tupac) while he performed an extended version of Hail Mary. The poignancy of the moment was clearly lost on the suburban tube top hotties.

Finally the crowd was reconnected with a jolly jumping good time cover of House of Pain's Jump Around.

Oh, I almost forgot! Akon casually walked out on stage and performed I wanna Love You. That was pretty awesome.

After losing a few points for the Liberace style microphone, Snoop Dogg and his pals score a solid 8.92 pounds out of 10.

Mickey Avalon looks like Beardo

The lady in charge of the media told me this was Mickey Avalon.

I realize it is not but she was having none of it.
Consequently, when Mickey Avalon did come on, I was not allowed to photograph it or even hear it.

This has been your Mickey Avalon review.

Good News Monday

It's important to try to combat your Mondays with so much good news that you can seamlessly summersalt into Tuesdays warm less, work-like glow.

To make that summersault a dive roll- check this out!

It looks like Amazon's top selling Wolves T-shirt and the You Tube keyboard cat "made nice" to create this glorious cotton offspring.

Apparently, this guy on Threadless is pumping these babies out like a TLC show (Jon&Kate Plus 8, 18 Kids and Counting, Table for 12 - pick your poison).

In other miracle news, the most hideous shoes in the world may soon be no more. The most surprising part is that these foam clogs sold 100 million pairs! How?

Maxim even named Crocs one of the “10 Worst Things to Happen to Men in 2007.” In 07, Crocs made a profit of $168.2 million. Last year, they lost $185.1 million.

Somehow I have a feeling we will still be seeing these around... If you are a Croc offender please read the public service announcement below and immediately dispose of them.

No Doubt is 'HELLA GOOD'

No Doubt played the Vancouver scene last night, July 18th, and blew the roof off GM Place. My ears were fed delicious hits from the California native band from opening the show with "Spiderwebs" to ending it with "Sunday Morning", which happen to be my 2 favorite songs. The energy was contagious and everyone was standing up, jumping, and singing along the entire 90 minute show (it was one big sweat fest). Gwen Stefani was one fierce performer (and can I mention that after having 2 kids her body looks tighter and hotter then ever, she's definitely not 'just a girl')! No Doubt they know how to entertain a crowd, HOLY LOTS OF AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION... I was also blown away on how cool it was that during the encore presentation they brought out both opening acts Bedouin Soundclash, and Paramore (PS: they seriously ROCK) to sing along! Needless to say, my "Tragic Kingdom" faze came back to me like in a dream! I had an amazing experience and still love them as much as my good ol' High School days!

If you missed out on the concert here are a few hits you'll enjoy!

Peace,
Cindy :-)
