It's FRIDAY! It's FRIDAY!

I love Friday, I love this Friday especially because I decided to drink champagne at work in my coffee mug and everything is just bubbly. We've got a fresh show tonight that will be up here by tomorrow so make sure you check back! In the mean time download all these fresh tunes that I've been seriously vibing this week. Have a hot and messy weekend!!!

There is something about the melody of this song, it's so fabulous, I want to go to a sock hop like right now.

And here's a fresh take from Madcon....

Madcon-Beggin (Original Version)

A weekend isn't a weekend without some crazy Kanye! Diplo KILLS the remix... (this is in last weeks show)

Kanye West - Flashing Lights (Diplo Remix)

Rabble rousing past guests Jokers of the Scene have been a frequent play on my ipod this week.

Scott Cooper & Andy George-Jump & Twist (Jokers of the Scene Remix)

I am not normally a big Drum n Bass person but this song makes me want to be in a work out montage in a triumphant sport movie.

Nu:Tone feat Natalie Williams-System (Matrix and Futurebound)

Jesse Rose is EFFING AWESOME. And I just like saying 'touch my horn'.

Jesse Rose-Touch My Horn (Mad Kids Remix)

I played this in our last podcast and it still is haunting my playlists, Grace Jones you crazy amazon woman, let's paint each other's bodies and make head dresses out of radiator parts.

Grace Jones-Williams Blood (Aeroplane Remix)

BUY IT ALL (Beatport)

David Letterman picks Joaquin Phoenix apart!

I don't know what to say any more... this was a total train wreck, Joaquin needs to crawl under a rock and stay away from public media events for a while. David Letterman takes the opening like James Harrison in Super Bowl 43 and run with it all the way. David even says he needs to apologize to Farrah Fawcett, that's rich! I can't decide if I should laugh or cry!?!?

Daft Punk having sex with a Commodre 64

Boy 8-Bit is my favorite DJ right now. Not just because he makes kick ass beats that are like Daft Punk having sex with a Commodore 64 . Not just because he has a link to the youtube video for "Take These Broken Wings" by Mr. Mister under the " I Like" section of his myspace page. Not only because he kicks it on amusement park rides with the dude from Justice. Not only because he sometimes paints his face like Gene Simmons meets The Crow. And not only because he has a shock of hair, red like the fires of HELL. It's mostly because the shit sounds rad coming out of my Jeep speakers when I roll hard down the avenue like a goddamn pimp.

This Is Good Shtuff!

SOOOO, since The Grammy's (Fav moment MIA and the Rap Pack) I have not been able to stop listening to Best Record of the Year "RAISING SAND". This amazing collaboration between Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and producer T-Bone Burnett is crazy awesome. Maybe I'm getting a little older and my musical pallette is maturing but this album rattles my insides and the two of them can sing their faces off... it haunts me... in a good way.
BUY IT ON iTUNES AND PUT IT IN YOUR EARS!

Another album I have been listening too for while is Adele's "19". She sings the shit out of every track and she walked away with Best New Artist at the Grammy's. She took Bob Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love" crushed it and made it into a fine wine that I like to get drunk on regularly.

Jayson Awesome got me listening to Elbow's newest album "Seldom Seen Kid" has been in my car for months. I can't take it out of rotation... Coldplay wishes they were this good. They sing about drinking and cyote arm and it all works wonderfully.

Q-Tips "The Renaissance" is dope. It brings me back to my highschool years in an instant but is still fresh and new. Way better than his last solo effort. This album has me smiling like an idiot still stoked about new hip hop.

Check'em out, I know its a mish mash but it's all good. Get it, make love to it and thank me later.

Release me from the kung fu grip of bitchy brunettes

Here are some of the new albums out today:
Lily Allen-It's Not Me, It's You
Dan Auerbach Black Keys singer-Keep It Hid
Busta Rhymes-B.O.M.B. (Back On My Bullshit)
Missy Elliott- Block Party
Warren G-The G-Files

I'd like to focus on Lily Allen for a sec.

Like, is it me or is there an abnormal amount of young brunette female singers walking around like their shit don't stink, getting high, singing about kissing girls and telling Elton John to fuck off?

Here's the problem. I can't tell them apart.

Grammy Whammy!

As much as I hate the mainstream corporate suck fest that is usually most awards shows I must say that last night's Grammys was actually pretty good. Thank you Radiohead for blowing my mind once again.

As Champ would say...

Radiohead knocks one out of the park....H-WHAMMY!

Got you Dancing

I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Lady Sov. I had her on my myspace back when she had like 400 friends, don't question my street cred okay? Because I have a lot of it, I also had Thunderheist and Yelle when they had like 5 friends. I have a cooldar and it shouldn't be questioned.

Anyways, I love Lady Sov's new single, and the vid is pretty cool too. I was pretty freaked out to see her without her cornrows, or as we call it here on Hotmess, 'Migraine Hair'.
